Prayer to St. Michael for Peace and Strength for the Dying

Heavenly Father, Eternal Source of Mercy,

We come before You with hearts filled with faith and hope, seeking comfort for those who are approaching the moment of death. You are the God of life, who welcomes the faithful into Your heavenly embrace. In Your love and wisdom, You have given us St. Michael the Archangel to guide and protect souls as they leave this world. Through his intercession, grant the dying peace, courage, and the assurance of Your promise of eternal life.

St. Michael, Guardian of Departing Souls,

You who stand at the side of those nearing the gates of eternity, be present now with the dying. Defend their souls from fear, doubt, and despair as they prepare to leave this earthly life. Surround them with the light of God’s love, which drives away all darkness.

When their strength fails and their spirits grow weary, inspire them to place their trust in the mercy of God, who will never abandon them. Let your prayers fill them with confidence that Heaven awaits, where eternal joy and rest are found.

Protector of Those Who Suffer,

We entrust to your care those who are dying in pain or distress. Shield them from feelings of isolation, fear, or abandonment. Comfort them with the knowledge that their suffering is united with Christ’s and carries great meaning in the eyes of God.

Through your intercession, may they find relief and a sense of peace as they surrender themselves to God’s will. Let your presence remind them that they are not alone and that the angels of Heaven are at their side, guiding them home.

Champion of Hope in the Hour of Death,

St. Michael, inspire the dying to trust in God’s infinite mercy. If their hearts carry the weight of unresolved sins or regrets, guide them to seek God’s forgiveness with humility and faith. Through the sacrament of reconciliation or the cry of their hearts, may they encounter the healing power of God’s love.

For those who cannot pray in their final moments, intercede for them, lifting their souls to God and asking for His mercy and peace. Let your prayers bring them hope and courage as they prepare to meet their Creator.

Defender Against the Enemy’s Attacks,

We ask for your protection over the souls of the dying, especially in their final hours. Guard them against the enemy’s attempts to sow fear, doubt, or despair. Shield their hearts and minds from confusion and remind them that Christ has already triumphed over sin and death.

Help them to cling to the promises of God, who has prepared a place for them in His eternal Kingdom. Let your presence reassure them that no force of darkness can separate them from the love of God.

Guardian of Families Accompanying the Dying,

St. Michael, we lift up to you the families and loved ones who are supporting the dying. Comfort them in their grief and give them the strength to provide love and care in their loved one’s final moments. Help them to trust in God’s plan, even when the pain of parting feels overwhelming.

Inspire them to pray fervently for the soul of their loved one, knowing that their prayers bring grace and peace to the dying. May their faith in the resurrection sustain them through their sorrow.

Guide to Eternal Rest,

St. Michael, walk with the dying as they leave this world and enter the next. Lead them safely to the arms of Christ, who has conquered death and opened the gates of Heaven. Let them feel the joy of being welcomed into the presence of God, where every tear will be wiped away and every pain will be no more.

Help them to let go of all earthly attachments and surrender fully to God’s love. May they find peace in the knowledge that they are being led to a place of eternal happiness, where they will praise God forever.

Victor Over Death, Lead Souls to Glory,

As the dying face their final moments, remind them that death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life with God. Let the victory of Christ over sin and death fill their hearts with hope and joy.

When their earthly journey is complete, guide their souls into the heavenly Kingdom, where they will rejoice forever in God’s love and light. May they join you and all the angels in worshiping God for His mercy and glory.

St. Michael the Archangel, faithful protector of souls and guardian of the dying, we thank you for your care and intercession. We entrust the dying and their loved ones to your protection, confident in your prayers and in God’s infinite mercy. Through your intercession, may the dying find peace, courage, and the joy of entering into God’s eternal Kingdom.
