Prayer to St. Michael for Guidance and Comfort for the Dying

Heavenly Father, Merciful Redeemer,

We come before You in faith, seeking Your mercy and comfort for those who are approaching the final moments of their earthly journey. You are the God of eternal life, whose love transcends all fear and suffering. In Your kindness, You have given us St. Michael the Archangel as a defender and guide for souls in their final hour. Through his intercession, grant the dying peace of heart, strength of spirit, and the joy of Your eternal promises.

St. Michael, Guardian of Souls in Transition,

You who are entrusted with leading souls to their eternal home, be present with those who are preparing to meet their Creator. Shield them from the fear of the unknown and from the enemy’s attempts to disturb their peace. Surround them with the light of Heaven and the comfort of God’s love, reminding them that death is not the end but the beginning of life eternal.

When their strength wanes and their spirits falter, inspire them to place their trust in God’s infinite mercy. Let your prayers be their shield, guiding them safely into the arms of their Savior.

Protector of the Vulnerable and Suffering,

We lift up to your care those who are dying alone or in pain. Comfort them in their suffering and defend them from feelings of isolation and despair. Remind them that God is with them, holding them tenderly and lovingly, even in their weakest moments.

Guide to the Gates of Heaven,

St. Michael, accompany the dying as they leave this world and enter into eternal life. Lead their souls gently and safely to the gates of Heaven, where Christ awaits to welcome them into His eternal embrace.

Help them to release their earthly burdens and surrender to God’s infinite love, which casts out all fear. Let your presence assure them that they are not alone and that their destination is the eternal joy of Heaven.
