"Loving Others as I Have Loved You"

My beloved child, today I want to remind you of the depth of My love for you and the command I have given you to love others in the same way. “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). The love I have shown you is sacrificial, selfless, and boundless. It is a love that seeks the good of the other before oneself. Today, I invite you to reflect on what it means to love others as I have loved you.

Love Is Sacrificial

The love I call you to is not always easy. It is a love that requires sacrifice, just as I sacrificed for you. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). While you may not be called to physically lay down your life, I ask you to lay down your pride, your desires, and your comfort for the sake of others. Love is about giving, not just receiving. It is about putting others’ needs above your own, even when it is inconvenient or costly.

Sacrificial love is the kind of love that transforms hearts and relationships. It is a love that reflects My heart to the world. When you give of yourself—whether it’s your time, your resources, or your attention—you are showing others a glimpse of My love for them. Do not be afraid to love sacrificially, for in giving, you will receive more than you can imagine.

Love Is Patient and Kind

In My Word, I tell you that “love is patient and kind” (1 Corinthians 13:4). True love does not rush or demand its own way. It is patient with others’ weaknesses and faults, just as I am patient with you. Patience is a key part of love because it allows space for growth and change. When you are patient with others, you are giving them the grace to become who I have called them to be.

Kindness is also a reflection of My love. Kindness is not just about being nice; it is about showing compassion and gentleness, especially in moments of tension or conflict. When you respond to others with kindness, even when they do not deserve it, you are showing them My heart. My love is gentle and kind, and I ask you to be the same with those around you.

Love Does Not Seek Its Own

One of the greatest challenges in loving others is learning not to seek your own way. “Love does not insist on its own way” (1 Corinthians 13:5). True love is selfless. It looks to the needs of others before oneself. In a world that teaches you to look out for your own interests, I call you to a different way—a way of humility and service.

When you love others selflessly, you are imitating My love. I did not come to be served but to serve, and I ask you to do the same. Serve those around you with a heart of love, not seeking recognition or reward, but simply out of a desire to reflect My love.

Loving in Difficult Situations

There will be times when it is difficult to love others, especially when they have hurt you or when they seem unlovable. But I call you to love even in those moments. “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). Loving your enemies is one of the most powerful ways you can reflect My love. It is a love that goes beyond what is expected or deserved.

When you love in difficult situations, you are breaking the cycle of hatred and revenge. You are showing the world that love is stronger than hate, and that forgiveness is stronger than bitterness. Trust that as you love those who are difficult to love, I am working in their hearts and in yours.

Action Step for Today

Reflect on your relationships today. Is there someone you need to love more sacrificially, with more patience or kindness? Take a moment to pray for that person and ask Me to help you love them as I have loved you. Commit to one act of selfless love today, whether it’s through a kind word, a helping hand, or a moment of patience. Let My love flow through you.
