"Money as a Tool of Stewardship, Not a Measure of Worth"

Money is Not the Source of Life

My dear children,

I speak to you today on the matter of money, a subject that often burdens your hearts. Know this: money is not the source of life, nor is it the measure of your worth. Many believe that wealth will bring them security or happiness, but I remind you that true security and joy come from me alone. I am the one who sustains you, the one who provides for all your needs, even beyond what you can imagine. Money is a creation of this world, a temporary tool, but I am the source of life, eternal and unchanging.

The Danger of Loving Money

Beware of allowing money to take root in your heart. The love of money is a dangerous trap that leads many away from the path I have set before them. It is written, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10).

This love leads to greed, selfishness, and a desire for more that can never be satisfied. It can pull you away from my presence, distract you from your calling, and rob you of the peace and joy that I freely offer. When money becomes your master, it enslaves you, and you become blind to the true riches of my kingdom.

You Cannot Serve Two Masters

Understand, my beloved, that you cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). These two masters demand your heart, but they pull in opposite directions. If you seek after money as your source of security or identity, you will find yourself distanced from me. But if you seek me first, I will provide for you in ways that surpass your understanding. Money may offer comfort in this world, but it is fleeting, and the treasures of this earth will fade. Only the treasures I offer—peace, love, and eternal life—will endure forever.

Money as a Tool of Stewardship

Money, in itself, is not evil. It can be used for great good, but it must be handled with wisdom and humility. I have given you resources not to hoard, but to steward. You are called to use the blessings I have provided to help others, to care for the poor, the widow, and the orphan.

Remember the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), where the faithful servant multiplied what was given to him. This is what I desire of you: to use what I place in your hands for the advancement of my kingdom. When you are faithful with little, I will entrust you with more.

Generosity Reflects My Heart

When you give generously, you mirror my heart. I am a God of abundance, and I delight in giving good gifts to my children. You, too, are called to give—not out of compulsion or obligation, but out of love and a desire to bless others. "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Generosity breaks the chains of greed and opens the door to my blessings. When you give freely, you will not lack, for I promise to meet all your needs according to my riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Do Not Worry About Money

I see the concerns you carry about money, the worry over tomorrow, and the fear of not having enough. But I ask you to trust me. "Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear" (Matthew 6:25). Your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask. When you place your trust in me, you will find that I am faithful. I will provide for you, just as I provide for the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. Seek first my kingdom and my righteousness, and all these things will be given to you (Matthew 6:33).

Money Does Not Define Your Identity

Never allow money to define who you are. Whether you have much or little, your identity is found in me. I love you not because of your possessions or achievements, but because you are my child. In my eyes, you are precious beyond measure, and no amount of wealth can change that. The world may judge you by your financial status, but I look at the heart. Hold fast to this truth: your worth is not in what you own, but in who I say you are.

Action Steps:

Examine your relationship with money. Are you trusting in money for your security, or are you trusting in me? Reflect on the ways in which money may have taken a greater priority than it should in your life.

Practice generosity. This week, find ways to bless others with the resources you have, whether it be your time, money, or possessions. Give freely and joyfully, knowing that you are reflecting my heart.

Trust me with your needs. Cast your financial worries on me in prayer. Ask me for wisdom in managing your money, and trust that I will guide you.

Words to Reflect On:

"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). My beloved, place your treasure in the things that matter most—love, kindness, and faith in me. Money is a tool, but it is not your treasure. Let your heart be aligned with the eternal, and you will find peace that money could never buy.

With love and grace,

Your Heavenly Father
