"Joy in Serving Others"
My beloved child, today I want to speak to you about the happiness that comes from serving others. One of the greatest sources of joy is found in giving of yourself—your time, your love, and your resources—to bless those around you. I created you to love and serve others, and when you live out this calling, you will experience a deep sense of fulfillment and happiness that cannot be found in seeking your own desires alone.
Happiness Through Giving
In My Word, I tell you, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). This is not just a command but a truth that leads to happiness. When you give to others, you are living out My love, and that brings a joy that goes beyond the temporary pleasures of receiving. The act of giving, whether it’s your time, your resources, or your attention, opens your heart to the fullness of joy.
Giving is not about how much you have, but about the heart with which you give. Even the smallest acts of kindness can bring great happiness when done in love. Whether it’s helping a friend in need, offering a kind word, or sharing what you have, each act of giving reflects My heart and brings you closer to the happiness I want for you.
Serving Others with Love
I have called you to love one another, and one of the greatest ways to express that love is through service. “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another” (Galatians 5:13). When you serve others, you are living out the freedom I have given you—the freedom to love selflessly.
Service is not always easy, and it may require sacrifice, but it is in these moments of selflessness that you will find true happiness. When you serve others with love, you are reflecting My heart, and that brings a deep sense of joy and fulfillment. As you give of yourself, you are participating in the work I am doing in the world, and that brings meaning and purpose to your life.
The Joy of Compassion
Compassion is at the heart of serving others. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). When you show compassion to those who are hurting or in need, you are sharing in their struggles and offering them the love and support they need. Compassion brings happiness not only to those you help but also to your own heart, because it connects you to the love I have for all people.
Look for opportunities to show compassion each day, whether it’s through listening to someone who is going through a difficult time, offering help to a neighbor, or supporting a cause that helps those in need. As you extend compassion, you will find that your heart is filled with joy, because you are living out My love in a tangible way.
Happiness in Building Community
One of the blessings of serving others is the sense of community it builds. “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4). When you serve those around you, you are contributing to a community of love and support, where people care for one another and lift each other up.
Community brings happiness because it reminds you that you are not alone. You were not meant to go through life in isolation, but in connection with others. When you serve within a community, you are building relationships that bring joy, comfort, and support. I want you to experience the happiness that comes from being part of a community that reflects My love.
Serving with a Cheerful Heart
As you serve others, I want you to do so with a cheerful heart. “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). When you serve out of love, not obligation, you will find that your heart is filled with joy. There is a special happiness that comes from giving freely and joyfully, knowing that you are blessing others and glorifying Me.
Do not serve out of duty or guilt, but from a heart that desires to love and bless others. As you give cheerfully, you will experience the happiness that comes from living in alignment with My will and My love.
Action Step for Today
Take time today to reflect on how you can serve others with love and compassion. Look for opportunities to give of your time, resources, or attention to bless those around you. Commit to serving with a cheerful heart, and trust that as you do, you will experience the happiness that comes from living out My love.
