A Prayer to Mother Mary for the Gift of Mercy and Compassion

O Blessed Virgin Mary,

Mother of Mercy and Queen of Forgiveness, I come to you today with a heart that seeks to be transformed by God’s grace. You, who are the Mother of Compassion, understand the struggles of the human heart, and I ask for your intercession that I may grow in the virtues of mercy and forgiveness. Help me to receive the mercy of God with a humble heart, and to extend that same mercy to those who have wronged me.

O Mary, you are the Mother of our Savior, who gave His life on the Cross so that we might be forgiven. In that moment of profound love, Jesus offered forgiveness to the world, even to those who had crucified Him. Help me to follow His example of mercy, even when it feels difficult or painful to forgive. Teach me to forgive with my whole heart, trusting that God’s grace will provide the strength I need.

There are times, O Holy Mother, when I struggle to forgive, when the pain of past wounds feels too heavy to bear. In these moments, I ask for your prayers, that I may receive the grace to forgive, not only for the sake of those who have hurt me, but for my own healing and peace. Help me to release the bitterness and anger that hold me captive, so that I may experience the freedom that comes from forgiving others.

O Mother of Divine Mercy, I also ask for your prayers as I seek to forgive myself for the mistakes and sins I have committed. Sometimes, I hold onto guilt and shame, even after I have sought forgiveness from God. Help me to trust in the power of Christ’s sacrifice, which has washed away all my sins. Remind me that God’s mercy is infinite, and that there is no sin too great for His forgiveness.

O Mary, Queen of Peace, I ask for your intercession in bringing peace to my heart through the gift of forgiveness. When I am tempted to hold onto resentment or anger, help me to remember that forgiveness is the path to healing and peace. Let my heart be open to the grace of forgiveness, both in giving and receiving it, so that I may grow in love and compassion.

O Mother of Good Counsel, guide me in seeking reconciliation with those I have wronged. Sometimes, pride or fear prevents me from asking for forgiveness, even when I know I have caused pain. Help me to approach others with humility and love, seeking to repair broken relationships and to restore peace. Let me be a source of healing and reconciliation, guided by your example of mercy and compassion.

O Mary, I also ask for your prayers as I seek to grow in the virtue of mercy. Help me to cultivate a heart that is patient, kind, and compassionate, always ready to forgive and to seek reconciliation. Let me be quick to forgive, just as God has forgiven me, and to live a life that reflects the mercy of Christ to the world.

Finally, O Blessed Mother, I ask for your intercession as I strive to live a life that reflects the mercy of God. Help me to remain close to your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the source of all grace and forgiveness. May I never stray far from His love, and may I always seek His forgiveness when I fall. Through your prayers, may I be transformed by God’s grace and live a life that brings glory to Him.
