A Prayer to Mother Mary for Guidance in Following God’s Will

O Blessed Virgin Mary,

Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ and Queen of Heaven, I humbly come before you today, seeking your gentle guidance and loving intercession. I stand at a critical juncture in my life, faced with decisions that weigh heavily upon my heart. In these moments of uncertainty, I turn to you, O Mother of Wisdom, asking that you lead me toward the path that aligns with God’s perfect will.

Mary, you are the ultimate example of faithfulness to God’s will. When the angel Gabriel came to you with the news that you would conceive the Son of God, you responded with a pure and open heart. Despite the mystery and uncertainty surrounding this divine plan, you said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Your "yes" was a complete surrender to God’s will, a trust that His plan, though beyond human understanding, was perfect.

As I face my own decisions, I ask for the grace to say “yes” to God’s will in my life, as you did. Teach me, O Mother, to have that same openness to God’s plan, even when the path ahead is unclear. Help me to surrender my fears, my doubts, and my desire for control. Let me trust that God’s ways are higher than mine, and that His purpose for me is one of love and goodness, even if I cannot yet see the outcome.

Mother Mary, you who stood firm in faith even in moments of trial, be with me as I make decisions that may challenge my comfort and security. Sometimes, the right path may not be the easiest one. It may require sacrifice, patience, or stepping into the unknown. Help me, dear Mother, to have the courage to choose what is right, even if it is difficult. Just as you walked with your Son on the road to Calvary, give me the strength to follow God’s will, even if it leads me through moments of hardship.

I ask for your intercession, O Mother of Good Counsel, to obtain for me the wisdom to discern the path God desires for me. Open my heart to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit. Guide my thoughts and decisions so that I may not be led by fear, pride, or worldly concerns, but by a genuine desire to do what is pleasing to God. You, who pondered all things in your heart, teach me to be still and to listen to the voice of God speaking within me. Help me to silence the noise of my anxieties and distractions, and to focus on His divine guidance.

O Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help, I know that the decisions I make do not affect me alone, but also those around me. Grant me the grace to consider others in all my choices. Help me to be mindful of how my actions and decisions can impact the lives of my loved ones, my community, and even those I may not know. Let my choices reflect not only my own needs, but also the greater good of others, bringing peace, unity, and love wherever I go.

At times, dear Mother, I may feel overwhelmed by the complexity of life’s choices, unsure of what God is asking of me. In these moments, I turn to you, trusting that your prayers will bring clarity and peace to my heart. If I am tempted to rush or act impulsively, slow me down. If I hesitate out of fear or uncertainty, help me to move forward in faith. Give me the grace to act with patience, trusting in God’s perfect timing, knowing that He will reveal His plan to me in the proper time.

Holy Mother, I also ask for the humility to accept God’s will, especially when it differs from my own desires or expectations. Sometimes, I may struggle with letting go of my own plans, clinging to what I think is best for me. Teach me to release my grip on control, to trust that God knows what is best for my soul. Help me to accept His will with peace and gratitude, knowing that His love for me is greater than anything I can imagine.

Finally, O Mary, I ask that you stay close to me as I move forward with the decisions I make. Whether I walk through joy or sorrow, success or failure, let me always remember that you are with me, guiding me toward your Son. With your loving intercession, I know that I can confidently follow the path that leads to holiness and fulfillment in God’s eyes.

I place my heart in your hands, dear Mother, trusting that you will bring me closer to your Son, Jesus Christ. Through your prayers and guidance, help me to follow God’s will in all things, knowing that He is the source of all peace, wisdom, and joy.
